Spencer Torkelson Cuts Finger, Will Miss Spring Games
4 years agoDetroit Tigers top prospect Spencer Torkelson (finger) cut his finger and is now expected to miss the first set of games of spring training. According to Tigers manager A.J. Hinch, Torkelson suffered the injury while opening a can. Hinch said that Torkelson got his finger stitched up and that the injury is "very mild." The 21-year-old Torkelson is entering his first spring training with the Tigers. He's one of the top prospects in all of baseball. It's unclear at this point how likely he is to make his debut in the majors this year. A strong spring training could go a long way in forcing the Tigers to give him the call sooner rather than later.
