Jose Abreu Delayed At Camp
4 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu's arrival to camp will be delayed due to additional COVID-19 antibody testing, but he's expected to be at spring training on Wednesday. Abreu won the 2020 American League MVP by posting career-highs in nearly every offensive category. But he's entering his age-34 season in 2021, and fantasy managers shouldn't expect another MVP-caliber season from the right-handed-hitting slugger. But Abreu has increased his average exit velocities and hard-hit rates in each of the last five seasons, so he's obviously still worth taking at his current ADP of 36 in the early rounds of drafts. While you shouldn't expect his 2020 pace to continue, Abreu should remain a solid contributor for a White Sox lineup that can do plenty of damage.
