Stephen Strasburg Feeling Great
4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg (hand, thumb) said he's "been feeling great" since he underwent surgery last August to fix carpal-tunnel neuritis after experiencing chronic numbness in his right thumb. Strasburg made just two starts last season before undergoing the surgery, finishing 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA over five innings. The 32-year-old right-hander started his offseason throwing program earlier than usual to give him extra time to work through his mechanics. "Endurance-wise, stamina-wise, I feel like I'm a lot further along than I have [been] in years past," Strasburg said. He threw a bullpen session last Friday and is expected to be 100 percent healthy for Opening Day. Strasburg is no doubt an injury risk heading into 2021 -- he's topped 200 innings just twice in his career -- but he should provide solid production if he's healthy as a low-end SP2 for fantasy managers.
