Ryan McMahon Could Return To 2019 Prominence
4 years agoColorado Rockies infielder Ryan McMahon took a step back in 2020 (.215/.295/.419 in 52 games) after hitting 24 home runs in 141 games in 2019, but he has the tools to return to prominence from a power perspective this season. He has a 46.2 percent hard-hit rate since 2018, including a 43 percent mark in 2020 and 48 percent in 2019. The 26-year-old left-handed swinger saw his strikeout rate rise from 29.7 percent in 2019 to 34.2 percent in 2020, but if he can find a way to put the ball in play more often, he should be able to capitalize on the Coors Field environment and give his fantasy managers plenty of home runs. With Nolan Arenado now in St. Louis, McMahon figures to slide over to the hot corner and add third base to his positional eligibility as well. Target him as a infield utility sleeper for his power in deep mixed leagues.
