Change Of Scenery Could Be Great For Nate Lowe
4 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe slashed .282/.401/.497 with 20 home runs in 121 games for Triple-A Durham in the Rays organization from 2018-19, but he had just 245 plate appearances in 71 games at the major league level in 2019 and 2020 for Tampa. But the left-handed slugger with an 11.9 percent career barrel rate will have an opportunity to become an everyday player with the Rangers. The 25-year-old had an above-average 107 OPS+ in 2019 and 2020 and hit a combined .251/.322/.447 with 11 home runs. Lowe's strikeout rate went from 21.1 percent in Triple-A to 31.8 percent in the majors, though, so if he can find a way to make more contact with his new squad, Lowe could become fantasy relevant in mixed fantasy leagues in 2021.
