Bryce Harper Expected To Be Healthy This Spring
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (back) should be healthy and ready to roll for the team's first full-squad workout on Monday at spring training after he finished last season with a balky back. But manager Joe Girardi also said "we'll pace ourselves a little bit with Bryce to make sure he clears every hurdle." Harper hit .268/.420/.542 with 13 home runs, 33 RBI, a .962 OPS and a 157 OPS+ in 58 games last year but tweaked his back in late August. He had a 1.192 OPS through Aug. 22, but that mark fell to .827 OPS afterward. If the 28-year-old can keep the gains he made in raising his walks and lowering his strikeouts in 2020, he should be a lock for around 35 home runs and 15-20 steals as a solid second-round pick in fantasy drafts.
