4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Adrian Morejon may not even have a roster spot right away in 2021 given the team's starting rotation and bullpen depth, but the 21-year-old left-hander has overpowering stuff. Morejon has an average fastball velocity of 96.6 mph and posted a 57 percent whiff rate on his knuckle-change in 2020. He also has a pair of swing-and-miss breaking balls and could pitch himself into the team's rotation later in the season. The southpaw's diverse arsenal produced an 11.6 K/9 last season and a 1.9 BB/9. His 4.66 ERA can largely be ignored after he threw just 19 1/3 innings during the regular season. Morejon can be ignored in mixed league drafts, but he should absolutely be owned in dynasty/keeper formats and is worth a flier in deep NL-only leagues for his upside.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
