Dansby Swanson Loses Arbitration Case
4 years agoAtlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson will earn $6 million this year after losing his salary arbitration case on Tuesday. He was requesting $6.7 million. The 27-year-old made $3.15 million through the arbitration process in 2020, and he's been among the teams better players over the last three seasons. Appearing in all 60 games in the shortened season last year, Swanson slashed .274/.345/.464 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI during the regular season. He has certainly been productive in spurts but also battled through injuries in both 2018 and 2019. The No. 1 overall pick in 2015 will be arbitration-eligible for the third and final time next winter. At a stacked position in fantasy, Swanson isn't a top-10 shortstop, but he serves as a strong middle infield option in one of the better lineups in baseball.
