Mets Acquire Prospect Khalil Lee From Royals
4 years agoThe New York Mets were the third team included in a deal that sent outfielder Andrew Benintendi from the Boston Red Sox to the Kansas City Royals. The only player the Mets acquired in the deal was outfield prospect Khalil Lee. The 22-year-old Lee was named the team's No. 8 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. He has some immense stolen base potential. In 2019, he stole 53 bases over 129 games at Double-A. He also has some pop, as he hit eight home runs and slugged .372 over that same stretch. There's no guarantee that Lee will surface in the big leagues with the Mets in 2021, though, so he's merely a dynasty/keeper target this season.
