Chase Anderson Agrees With Phillies
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies agreed to an undisclosed deal with free-agent starting pitcher Chase Anderson on Wednesday, according to a source. The deal is pending a physical. The 33-year-old right-hander had an unsightly 7.22 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 10 outings (seven starts) over 33 2/3 innings in his lone season with the Toronto Blue Jays during the shortened 2020 season. Anderson has a 4.06 career ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 890 2/3 innings over 176 big-league outings (167 starts) for the Diamondbacks, Brewers and Blue Jays in seven seasons. He's mostly just a depth signing for the Phillies and is unlikely to see many starts if he makes the major league roster out of spring training. Anderson is off the radar in all fantasy formats for now, especially with his mediocre 7.7 career K/9 mark.
