Trevor Story Expected To Begin Season With Rockies
4 years agoColorado Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich said that he expects shortstop Trevor Story to be with the club for the start of the 2021 season. Many expect the Rockies to consider trading Story after they just sent All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado to the Cardinals. The 28-year-old will be eligible to become a free agent after the 2021 season, and the Rockies have not approached him about a long-term contract extension. Trade rumors aside, Story hit .289/.355/.519 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 235 at-bats in the shortened 2020 season and has an elite power/speed combination at a premier position. A trade away from hitter-friendly Coors Field would slightly diminish his value, but Story remains a late first-round option for fantasy managers with him still in a Rockies uniform.
