Sammy Watkins Optimistic About Playing In Super Bowl
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins (calf) told reporters that he's optimistic that he'll be able to play in the Super Bowl against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday despite being listed as questionable. Watkins hasn't played a game yet this postseason and also sat out the Week 17 regular season finale after suffering a calf injury in Week 16. His absence has led to more work for wideout Mecole Hardman, who had two catches for four yards and a touchdown and one carry for 50 yards in the win over the Bills in the AFC Championship. Hardman also caught all four of his targets for 58 yards in the Divisional Round win over Cleveland. If the 27-year-old Watkins is active, he could be on a snap count, which makes him extremely risky for fantasy purposes, especially since he hasn't played in four weeks. Hardman remains the more attractive boom/bust DFS piece.
