Points League - Waiver Wire Adds

Columns are written based on H2H Points Standard Size Leagues:

Cole Anthony - PG - Orlando Magic

41% Rostered

Over the last week rookie point guard, Cole Anthony has started to live up to the responsibilities as a starting-caliber player for the Orlando Magic. Anthony has brought his season average to 22.68 fantasy points a game, even after a rough start as the backup point guard. While Anthony won't be the center point of the offense with teammates like Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier, Anthony will still see his fair share of handling the ball and facilitating the offense. 20 games into the season Anthony is averaging 10.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.5 blocks.

Carmelo Anthony - SF/PF - Portland Trail Blazers

41% Rostered

The Portland Trail Blazers currently have four starters listed on the injury list, giving Carmelo Anthony an extended run with the starting unit and being a bigger scoring option for the short-handed Blazers. While Robert Covington could already be cleared to play from concussion protocol by the time this is released, the other three starters will be out for a long time. Anthony has played over 30 minutes the last two games and averaged 32.5 fantasy points. Anthony's value might not last long term, for the foreseeable future, Anthony can be a great waiver wire add this week.

Justin Holiday - SG/SF - Indiana Pacers

38% Rostered

The Indiana Pacers have had their fair share of injuries and they were even involved with the blockbuster James Harden trade acquiring guard Caris Levert. It was suspected that Levert would fill in for former Pacer Victor Oladipo as the starting shooting guard, but with medical complications for Levert, he has yet to suit up as a Pacer and is out indefinitely. Justin Holiday has filled in nicely earlier in the season when T.J. Warren got injured and has continued to be a solid fantasy asset. Over Holiday's career, he has been an inconsistent scorer which can be frustrating to own, but Holiday has maintained a 21 fantasy point average for the season. Holiday is currently shooting a career-high 48.4% from the field.

Cody Zeller - C - Charlotte Hornets

23% Rostered

The return of Cody Zeller for the Charlotte Hornets has arrived. Zeller started slow on a minutes restriction and coming off the bench but now that the minutes have ramped up he has taken his rightful place as starting center. Zeller is averaging 22.28 fantasy points in the last five games since returning and only two of those games was Zeller in the starting five. With great passers on the team, Zeller can find more opportunities to score in the post or as a lob threat.

Jakob Poeltl - C - San Antonio Spurs

19% Rostered

Jakob Poeltl has been an intriguing piece for the San Antonio Spurs, who was included in the Kawhi Leonard for DeMar DeRozan trade in 2018. This year as LaMarcus Alridge has been sub-optimal, Poeltl has had big games blocking shots and being a defensive anchor for the Spurs. What limits Poeltl the most is his playtime, and it might never get to a point where he is a must rostered player in fantasy this season. This season has been encouraging, as Poeltl hits his career-high in minutes played per game. Poeltl should be seen as more of a stash type of player who can get extra value if Alridge's playtime decreases as the season continues.

T.J. McConnell - PG/SG - Indiana Pacers

15% Rostered

As mentioned earlier, Caris Levert is missing time for the Indiana Pacers gives other members of the squad time to solidify themselves into the rotation. Back-up point guard T.J. McConnell has been reaping the rewards of more minutes and producing at a high level. Since the trade McConnell is averaging 24 fantasy points in 24 minutes per game. While McConnell isn't known for being a scorer, he is always looking for the open man on the court filling the stat sheet with assists. The Pacers have been down members of the team all year and McConnell has been a steady source of fantasy points and is only rostered in a small percentage of leagues.

Khem Birch - PF/C - Orlando Magic

8% Rostered

Khem Birch has quietly been on a tear for Yahoo fantasy points leagues averaging 20.60 fantasy points per game for the season. Currently averaging career highs in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks the 4th year center for the Orlando Magic has finally earned solid backup minutes. Birch's 22 minutes a night average suggests that he has been able to find time on the court as the center for the second unit and has been playing power forward alongside Nikola Vucevic. This will give Birch even more opportunity to be a long-term fantasy asset has Birch has only had one game in the last nine that he has played under 20 minutes.
