ANALYSIS: Trey Burke is as reliable as they come in terms of scoring threats off the bench, and that has remained the case in his second go-round with the Dallas Mavericks, even with Jalen Brunson to compete with for playing time. So far, Burke has averaged 21.6 minutes per game, and in that time has produced 10.4 points while making 1.7 of 4.2 nightly three-point attempts for a conversion rate of 40%.
The main detractions of Burke are in the fact that his playing time could take a hit with Josh Richardson back and yet another mouth to feed in the Mavericks backcourt, and in his minimal contributions in statistical categories other than points. Even so, his three-point volume and efficiency help to push him over the line, as the kind of microwave offense he provides in reserve has a meaningful place in the Dallas rotation. For those in deeper formats, Trey Burke is a solid option for a level of scoring that is hard to find among the widely-available.
