Blue Jays Discussing Blockbuster For Kris Bryant, Kyle Hendricks?
4 years agoThere is some truth to a rumor floating that the Toronto Blue Jays are discussing a blockbuster trade with the Chicago Cubs that would include third baseman Kris Bryant and starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks. But it also could just be the Blue Jays checking in with the Cubs, a team that is known to be a seller looking to reduce payroll. But the Blue Jays could use a third baseman with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. slated to play first base, and they'd still like to add to their starting rotation. But Hendricks is currently on a team-friendly deal with three years of team control remaining. Bryant has battled injuries in recent seasons and has seen his production fall off, but he's a former MVP that would boot an already stacked Toronto lineup. Bryant has been mentioned in plenty of trade talks, as he's set to become a free agent after the 2021 season.
