Reds Open To Talks For Eugenio Suarez, Others
4 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds are open to listening to trade offers for third baseman Eugenio Suarez, outfielder Nick Castellanos and second baseman Mike Moustakas, with Suarez generating the most interest among the trio. The Nationals talked about Suarez, but Washington won't trade top pitching prospects Jackson Rutledge or Cade Cavalli, making a deal unlikely. If Suarez were to be dealt, it'd open up the hot corner for Moustakas. The Nationals currently have 23-year-old Carter Kieboom at third base, but he has struggled in limited exposure to major league pitching so far. Suarez has hit 98 home runs since the 2018 season, ranking second behind only Mike Trout in that span. Along with the trio of position players, Cincinnati is also open to trading both starting pitchers Sonny Gray and Luis Castillo as they look to shed payroll ahead of the 2021 season.
