Carlton Davis Returns For Buccaneers Defense
4 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis (groin) is active for the wild-card playoff game against the Washington Football Team on Saturday night. Davis has been out since the Week 15 win over the Falcons, so his return is a huge boost to a secondary that has been much more vulnerable than the team's rush defense in 2020. The 24-year-old ranks as the No. 37 fantasy defensive back in IDP leagues this year, recording 68 combined tackles (52 solo), a career-high four interceptions and 18 passes defensed in 14 games this season. Especially with Davis back in the fold, Tampa's defense will be the most popular fantasy unit on wild-card weekend with Washington quarterback Alex Smith (calf) ruled out. The Bucs will face backup Taylor Heinicke, who has attempted just 77 NFL pass attempts in three seasons.
