John Wolford, Not Jared Goff, To Start Against Seahawks
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that quarterback John Wolford will be the starter under center on Saturday in the wild-card game against the Seahawks, with Jared Goff (thumb) backing him up after having right thumb surgery two weeks ago. Wolford will be making just his second career NFL start this weekend against a Seahawks Defense that has allowed the fewest fantasy points to signal-callers in the last five weeks. Wolford will be a low-ceiling, low-floor fantasy QB, with the Rams offensive skill position players also having less upside with Goff not starting. There's still a chance that Goff could play on Saturday, but avoiding the Rams QB situation is probably the safest move. Wolford was 22-for-38 for 231 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the Week 17 win over the Cardinals.
