Teddy Bridgewater Put On Notice For 2021
4 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule didn't give quarterback Teddy Bridgewater a full endorsement to be the starting QB in 2021 after the Week 17 regular season finale. "Teddy has to have a tremendous offseason," Rhule said. Bridgewater was replaced by P.J. Walker in the final game of the season in the blowout loss to the Saints when he completed 13 of 23 passes for 176 yards with two interceptions. Since Bridgewater was injured in Week 10, he completed 62.96 percent of his passes, averaging 236.2 yards per game while throwing four interceptions and two touchdowns and taking 12 sacks. He averaged 255 yards per game, completed 72.12 percent of his throws and had 13 touchdowns, seven interceptions and took 19 sacks in the first 10 games. Bridgewater carries a $23 million salary cap hit in 2021, but it won't stop Carolina from drafting a young QB to potentially compete for the starting job next year.
