Jim Schwartz, Rich Scangarello, Marty Mornhinweg Won't Return
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles senior offensive assistant Rich Scangarello and senior offensive consultant Marty Mornhinweg, who are on expiring contracts, will not return to the team in 2021, according to sources. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz also will not be with the team next season. The Eagles are expected to go with a new offensive coordinator for the 2021 season after going without one this season. Head coach Doug Pederson has been reluctant to give up play-calling duties in the past, but he did it situationally in 2020 and was more open to it. The Eagles were 4-11-1 this year and finished 26th in scoring (20.9 points per game) and 28th in passing (207.9 yards per game). Quarterback Carson Wentz regressed in his fifth year and was tied for first in interceptions (15) and led the league in sacks taken (50) in just 12 games before being benched for rookie Jalen Hurts in Week 14.
