Panthers Sign Joey Slye To Extension
4 years agoThe Carolina Panthers signed kicker Joey Slye to a contract extension on Tuesday that will run through the 2021 season. Slye was 29-for-36 on his field-goal tries this year and made 33 of his 36 extra points, also ranking second in the league with a 91.0 touchback percentage. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019 out of Virginia Tech and has gone 54-for-68 on field goals and 64-for-71 on extra points in two seasons for the Panthers. The 24-year-old had just one extra-point attempt in the Week 17 loss to the Saints. He finished as the No. 13 kicker in terms of overall fantasy points and should be on the streaming radar again next season, especially when the team gets a healthy Christian McCaffrey back.
