Zach Ertz's Time In Philadelphia Over?
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz sounded as if he was saying his goodbyes to the Eagles organization during his end-of-the-season press conference on Monday. With the Eagles able to save around $4.5 million in salary cap by cutting Ertz after eight seasons and with Dallas Goedert on the roster through 2021 on his affordable rookie deal, it seems likely that Ertz won't be with Philly next season. The former second-rounder made three straight Pro Bowls from 2017-19 and has averaged around 760 receiving yards and over four touchdowns per season in his career. The 30-year-old would love to stay in Philadelphia, but he also had a down year with just one touchdown in 11 games due to injuries. While he's no longer a high-end TE1 like he was several years ago, he could be a nice sleeper if he's cut and lands in a favorable situation elsewhere.
