Broncos Defense Records Four Turnovers Against Raiders
4 years agoThe Denver Broncos Defense wasn't trustworthy for fantasy purposes in 2020, mainly due to injuries at key positions and a general lack of takeaways. But in the Week 17 regular season finale against the division-rival Raiders, they were able to recover two fumbles and intercept two passes to finish as a top-10 fantasy unit for the week despite allowing 32 points in the loss. They also picked up three sacks. Not having former Super Bowl MVP Von Miller (ankle) in the fold all season really hurt this unit's season-long upside, but Denver still managed to finish with the ninth-most sacks (42). But they also allowed the eighth-most points (446) and eighth-most rushing yards per game (130). A healthy Miller combined with Bradley Chubb on the opposite side of the defensive line in 2021 could give opposing offenses headaches, and Denver does have playmakers in the secondary in safety Justin Simmons and cornerback A.J. Bouye. With better health, this defense could be a nice 2021 sleeper in fantasy leagues.
