Matthew Stafford Won't Practice Wednesday
4 years agoDetroit Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell said that quarterback Matthew Stafford (ankle, rib, thumb) will not practice on Wednesday. Stafford looks to have a 50/50 chance of playing in the Week 17 season finale against the Vikings due to the sprained ankle he suffered in the Week 16 loss to the Buccaneers. The 32-year-old is as tough as they come and will want to play if he can, but it's more likely that the Lions err on the side of caution and rest him in a meaningless game. Fantasy managers still playing for a championship this week shouldn't be holding out hope that Stafford will help them this weekend, especially after his up-and-down season. Chase Daniel did very little in place of Stafford last week and would be just a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he gets the start against Minnesota.
