Sunday Night Football DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Titans vs. Packers

We get a big-time matchup for our Sunday Night Showdown slate. The Tennessee Titans travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers and this game carries playoff implications for both teams. Green Bay has a game on the New Orleans Saints for the top seed in the NFC while the Titans are tied with the Colts for the lead in the AFC South division. This game features an over/under of 55.5 with the Packers being favored by 4 points.

In this article, I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for Sunday Night Football slate on December 27th (Week 16). These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DFS Quarterbacks

Both quarterbacks on this slate are viable in all formats and could even be considered for the captain/ MVP spot on either fantasy site. Ryan Tannehill is having another strong season for Tennessee as he is near the 3,500 passing mark on the season but what has really stood out is how well his touchdown to interception ratio has been. He has tossed 31 touchdowns on the year but has only been picked off five times which is a fantastic ratio to have. Tannehill has also been strong from a fantasy perspective as he has hit double-digit points in every game so far this season and had multi-touchdown performances in 9 out of his last 11 games played. Green Bay allows 241 passing yards per game and 1.6 passing touchdowns per game so this looks to be a solid matchup for the Tennessee passing game. If Green Bay chooses to focus on stopping Derrick Henry, it could lead to some favorable matchups for Tannehill and his receivers.

On the other side of this game stands Aaron Rodgers who is having an MVP type of season. Rodgers has thrown for 3,800 passing yards while tossing 40 touchdown passes and only throwing four interceptions on the season. He has been extremely efficient and he has accumulated a quarterback rating of 118 throughout the 2020 season. Rodgers has been in really good form as of late as he has thrown three or more touchdown passes in four of his last five games played and has only scored under 20 DK points three times this season. The Titans are allowing 284 passing yards per game which is 29th in the league so we could see a ceiling type of game for Rodgers if this game stays competitive through all four quarters.

Analysis: Both quarterbacks are viable on this slate with the edge going to Rodgers. They could be played in all formats but could be tough to roster together since you would most likely want to pair them with a top receiver from their team in your tournament builds.

DFS Running Backs

We get some of the best fantasy football running backs in this game so selecting the right one will be crucial in this showdown slate. Derrick Henry leads the entire NFL in rushing as he has accumulated over 1,600 rushing yards on the season and is tied for the league-lead with 15 total rushing touchdowns. The Titans offense revolves around Henry and this has been the most rushing attempts Henry has seen in a single season (and the season isn't even over). Henry has been on a roll as he has eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark in five out of his last six games played and he has found the end zone seven times during that stretch. Green Bay has been solid against the run as they only allow 110 rushing yards per game so Henry will need to see his touches in order to hit value against a solid run defense. Backing up Henry is Darrynton Evans who is a solid pass-catching running back. While he doesn't get many opportunities, he is one to include in your tournament player pool and have a small exposure to incase he was able to take a pass to the house.

On the other side of this game sits Aaron Jones who is also a top-five leading rushing in the NFL. Jones is having a strong season as he is knocking on the door of the 1,000-yard mark and hs racked up 10 total touchdowns this season. In addition, he has seen double-digit carried in every single game so far and is seeing over four targets per game. Jones has been very reliable from a fantasy perspective as he has eclipsed double-digit DK points in all but one game this season so he does carry a high floor already. The Titans Defense is middle of the pack when it comes to rushing defense as they allow 114.5 rushing yards per game and with the defense's attention having to shift over to Rodgers and Adams, Jones could go overlooked and have a very good day.  Backing up Jones this week could be rookie running back AJ Dillon as Jamaal Williams is listed as doubtful with a quad injury. While Dillon hasn't seen much action, he would be one to include in your player pools if you were mass-multi entering.

Analysis: Henry and Jones are top plays on this slate with Henry being the preferred play in cash games due to his volume. You can roster both in all formats but it will leave you with little wiggle room when it comes to roster construction.

DFS Wide Receivers

We get some great receiving options in this game and trying to fit them in with the running backs will be extremely tough to do. For the Titans, they really rely on the receiving duo of AJ Brown and Corey Davis. Brown is the more consistent fantasy target as he has produced double-digit DK points in 10 out of 12 total games this season and leads the Titans in overall target share and touchdown receptions (10). Corey Davis is having a strong season as well as he leads the Titans in receptions and has racked up the most receiving yards on the season with 945. The safer of the two options is Brown as he is more reliable and consistent from a fantasy production but going in Davis in tournaments could differentiate your lineup a bit while still allowing you to have a high ceiling from a Titans receiver. Outside of the big two options for the Titans, you could consider Cameron Batson for your tournament lineups as a cheap value option. Batson has seen the third-most snaps over the last five games played and while he doesn't have the best floor, he does have a receiving touchdown under his belt within the last two weeks.

The Packers have a very strong receiving group with arguably the best receiver in the league in Davanta Adams. Adams carries a 25% team target share percentage and averaged 98 receiving yards per game which is the highest yards per game rate in the league. He has racked up 14 total receiving touchdowns and 12 of those touchdowns have come from the last nine games that he has played. Adams is seeing 11 targets per game and offers one of the best floors in the entire league which makes him viable in all formats. Allen Lazard and Marques Valdez-Scantling round out the receiving trio for the Packers and while they don't have quite as safe of floors as Adams offers, they are tournament viable as they can have solid performances themselves. Both Lazard and MVS see over four targets per game and they have combined for eight receiving touchdowns on the season. The matchup against the Titans looks very good for the Packers receivers as Tennessee allows close to 300 yards per game through the air so looking at several Packers receivers in tournaments could be the way to go.

Analysis: Adams and Brown are the two safest receiving options and should be considered in all formats. Davis is viable for both cash and tournaments but does carry some risk. MVS, Lazard, and Batson should really be tournament only plays but one of them could be viable if needing additional salary for roster construction.

DFS Tight Ends

The tight end position is another position to look at to differentiate your lineups when it comes to tournament builds. Both Robert Tonyan and Jonnu Smith are reliable pass-catching tight ends that have combined for 17 total receiving touchdowns on the season (10 Tonyan, 7 Smith). Tonyan has been the more consistent fantasy option as he has hauled in a receiving touchdown in five straight games and has eclipsed double-digit DK points in those five games as well. Both Tonyan and Smith are seeing over four targets per game and should go lower owned on this slate due to the high priced receiving and rushing options on this slate. Geoff Swaim, Anthony Firkser, and Marcedes Lewis are the backup tight ends on this slate and while they could be included in tournament player pools, they should not be a heavy priority since they have a very low floor and would only pay off should they catch a touchdown.

Analysis: Tonyan is the best tight end option on the slate and could even be prioritized ahead of MVS and Lazard if stacking the Packers. Smith is viable in Titans stacks, especially if you're rostering Tannehill. The backup tight ends are tournament viable but only if you plan on mass multi-entering.

DFS Defense/Special Teams

This game features a high game total and with both offenses being ranked in the top three in points per game scored, it is hard to consider rostering a defense in this game. Both Tennessee and Green Bay are allowing over 24 points per game so his matchup could generate plenty of points. This game is being played in Green Bay so when looking at the weather and factoring in this time of year, we could see this game being played in some snow. With that being said, rostering kickers is a risky move due to the wind, snow, and playing conditions which are definitely not optimal for the kicking game.

Analysis: It is best to fade both kickers and defenses since this should be a high scoring game that is being played in snowy weather conditions which doesn't favor either kicker. If you did want to take a stab at a kicker, it would be best to lean towards Mason Crosby who has plenty of experience kicking in snowy conditions.

Good luck, RotoBallers, and remember to mix it up and don't be afraid to be different in these large field GPPs!
