James Wiseman Rookie Outlook
4 years agoGolden State Warriors center James Wiseman should be one of the top rookies in the NBA this season, though the team has cautioned that they intend to bring the former Memphis Tiger along slowly. While Wiseman is a tough player to project due to some of his positive traits being a little outdated when it comes to big men, he should be a solid source of scoring, rebounds, and blocks once he moves into the starting role for Golden State. With Marquese Chriss and Kevon Looney the other main competitors for minutes at the five, it shouldn't take too long to see Wiseman getting 25-plus minutes per game. We'll also likely see a more post-oriented Warriors offense than we're used to this year with Klay Thompson (Achilles) out, with Wiseman getting plenty of paint touches. That projected volume will make him a nightly double-double threat, something that suggests he'll have the highest upside among this rookie class.
