Matthew Stafford, D'Andre Swift Expected To Play
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) and running back D'Andre Swift (illness) are both expected to play in Week 14 against the Packers. Both players were able to practice fully on Friday, lending optimism towards their status for the divisional contest. Swift has missed the last three games with both a concussion and a non-COVID illness, though it seems like he'll make his return to the field against a Packers Defense yielding the third-most fantasy point per game to running backs. Even if Swift is limited, he should warrant consideration as an RB2, albeit one who is a bit more risky than usual. Stafford has been able to play at a high level through the thumb injury, as he posted 402 passing yards and three touchdowns against the Bears last week. The veteran signal-caller may have to go throw-for-throw with Aaron Rodgers, giving him some upside this week.
