David Dahl Agrees With Texas
4 years agoFree-agent outfielder David Dahl and the Texas Rangers agreed on a one-year deal for around $3 million on Friday, according to sources familiar with the agreement. Dahl, 26, became a free agent when he was non-tendered by the Rockies. He's recovering from right shoulder surgery in September. Dahl has a long list of injuries in his career -- he had his spleen removed in 2015, a rib-cage injury in 2017, a broken right foot in 2018 and a right ankle injury in his breakout All-Star season in 2019. He played in just 24 of 60 games in 2020 due to a shoulder injury and hit only .183 with no homers, two doubles and two triples in 99 plate appearances. Dahl should see plenty of playing time, and although he's leaving the hitter's paradise of Coors Field, he could be a great fantasy bargain if he can just stay on the field.
