Jonah Williams Placed On Injured Reserve
4 years agoThe Cincinnati Bengals placed rookie offensive tackle Jonah Williams (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, likely ending his season. The good news is that Williams will not need surgery, according to head coach Zac Taylor. Cornerback Darius Phillips was activated from IR in a corresponding move. Williams will be out for at least the next three games, and with just four games left in the season, the team's first-round selection (11th overall) could easily have played his last snap in his rookie campaign. The Bengals last two first-rounders have finished the season on IR. The loss of the 23-year-old from Alabama is more bad news for a bad offensive line and won't make life easy on either quarterback Brandon Allen or Ryan Finley the rest of the way. Cincy does have a good matchup on the ground against Dallas in Week 14, though, so perhaps running back Giovani Bernard can put up some useful fantasy numbers.
