Sam Darnold To Start Against Dolphins
4 years agoNew York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) will practice in full on Friday for the second straight day and will start in Week 12 against the division-rival Dolphins "unless something changes today, which I don't anticipate," head coach Adam Gase said. Wide receivers Breshad Perriman, Jamison Crowder and rookie Denzel Mims will all be active as well, giving the team a chance to "see what maybe it could have been," said Gase. Darnold has been out since Week 8 and should give the winless Jets a boost on Sunday, but he's still nothing more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues. His return is really good news for Crowder out of the slot. Veteran Joe Flacco will revert to a backup role after starting the last two games.
