Matt Nagy Giving Up Play-Calling For Bears
4 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said on Friday that he is giving up play-calling duties heading into the Monday night game against the Vikings. Offensive coordinator Bill Lazor will take over play-calling duties. Nagy was considering this weeks ago, but he's finally pulling the trigger after two straight losses in which the offense could barely move the football. The Bears have the fourth-fewest offensive yards per game (317.8), the fewest rushing yards per game (82.3) and the fourth-fewest points per game (19.8) through nine weeks, leading to the change. We'll be able to see how the change affects the offense on a national stage on Monday against a Minnesota defense that has allowed the ninth-most points in the NFL. Hopefully the change is good news for quarterback Nick Foles, running back David Montgomery and receiver Allen Robinson II.
