Broncos Defense Has Tough Test Against Falcons Offense
4 years agoThe Denver Broncos Defense will head into their Week 9 matchup against the Falcons surprisingly ranked ninth in the league in overall defense. But they'll be facing an Atlanta offense that ranks third in the NFL, and slowing down running back Todd Gurley II and quarterback Matt Ryan will be a tough challenge. Denver will also be missing pretty much their entire starting defensive line with Shelby Harris on the COVID-19 list and possibly out Sunday. Cornerback A.J. Bouye is also in the concussion protocol and was officially ruled out. With an inexperienced secondary, Falcons receivers Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley could both have big days. The Broncos D hasn't been all that great at creating turnovers this year either, so they'll be a low-upside defensive unit against a high-scoring Falcons offense.
