Lions Non-Committal On Matthew Stafford's Status
4 years agoDetroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia said he won't comment on whether quarterback Matthew Stafford has a chance to play in Week 9 against the division-rival Vikings. Stafford was put on the COVID-19 list on Wednesday after he came into contact with someone on Monday that tested positive for COVID-19. He's been isolating and his entire family has all been testing negative. If Stafford's tests remain negative, he could be in line to start on Sunday against Minnesota. Since 2009, Detroit is 5-22 when Stafford doesn't start, including going 0-8 without him in 2019. If he is cleared, he'll have QB1 upside against a porous Vikings Defense. If he's not cleared, backup Chase Daniel will take over for him under center.
