George Kittle Out Eight Weeks With Broken Foot
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (foot) will be out eight weeks after suffering a broken bone in his foot in the Week 8 loss to the Seahawks, according to a source. Kittle caught just two of his four targets for 39 yards in the Week 8 loss to the Seahawks before leaving with his injury. Initial X-rays came back negative, but the elite fantasy and real-life tight end will now miss most of the rest of the regular season after a fracture was revealed through further testing. A high-end TE1 when healthy, fantasy managers might be forced to drop Kittle in single-year formats since he's unlikely to help through the fantasy playoffs. The Niners designated Jordan Reed (knee) to return from Injured Reserve this past week, so the 30-year-old veteran could become a TE2 with upside for desperate fantasy managers in deeper leagues the rest of the way. His return likely won't come this Thursday night against the Packers, however, meaning Ross Dwelley and rookie Charlie Woerner will be competing for looks at the position.
