George Springer Doesn't Want To Return To Astros
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer, who is set to become a free agent, doesn't want to return to the team. It would be a big loss for an Astros team that will already be without starting pitcher Justin Verlander (elbow) in 2021 as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Fellow outfielders Michael Brantley and Josh Reddick are also impending free agents. If Springer truly wants out of Houston, the Mets and Red Sox, among others, are expected to be among the bidders for one of the top offensive players on the market this offseason. The 31-year-old hit .265/.359/.540 with 14 home runs, 37 runs and 32 RBI in 189 at-bats during the regular season and .263 with four homers and 10 RBI in 13 postseason games in 2020.
