Jets Trying To Trade Le'Veon Bell
4 years agoThe New York Jets are trying to trade running back Le'Veon Bell, according to a league source. Bell has been unhappy with his role in the team's offense and has $6 million remaining on his 2020 salary, all of which is fully guaranteed. It will be difficult for the Jets to move him ahead of the Nov. 3 deadline, but both sides are motivated to get something done. He has averaged only 3.3 yards per carry since signing a four-year, $52.5 million deal last year. Bell injured his hamstring in Week 1 and returned last Sunday, carrying the ball just 13 times for 60 yards and was targeted once in the passing game. If Gang Green trades Bell, they'll likely have to eat some of his salary. Even in a good matchup this week against the Dolphins, Bell is more of an RB3/flex in New York's putrid offense. His fantasy value would certainly increase if he's dealt, depending on where he lands. Veteran Frank Gore would once again become the team's lead back if Bell is traded, but Gore proved to be mostly useless for fantasy managers as the lead back when Bell was sidelined with his hamstring injury.
