Drew Brees Says He Feels Great
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said he feels "borderline great" despite a disappointing performance in the Monday night loss to the Raiders in Week 2. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer completed 26 of 38 passes for 312 yards, one touchdown and a passer rating of 91.1, but he also threw an ugly interception on a forced pass and had an air-yards-per-attempt mark below 5.5. An important thing to note is that Brees was without All-Pro receiver Michael Thomas (ankle). Since 2016, Brees has a record of 40-18, a completion percentage of 72.4, a yards-per-attempt average of 7.9, a 121-29 TD-INT ratio and a 109.2 passer rating with Thomas available. Those numbers drop to 0-2 with a 64.6 completion percentage, 7.2 yards per attempt, a 1-4 TD-INT ratio and a passer rating of 69 without Thomas. While the Week 3 game against Green Bay could be high-scoring, Brees will be more of a high-end QB2 in fantasy if Thomas misses another game, which is likely.
