Seth Lugo Bounces Back With Quality Start
4 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Seth Lugo picked up his third win of the season in the Mets' 5-2 victory over the Rays on Tuesday. Lugo, coming off of his worst start of the season last Thursday in which he went only 1 2/3 and allowed six earned runs, bounced back by going 6 1/3 innings against the Rays and striking out seven. Lugo allowed only one earned run, four hits, and one walk in his quality start against the potent Rays lineup. Lugo lowered his ERA to 3.82 and WHIP to 1.22 with his performance. Prior to Tuesday's game, Lugo had posted a 11.57 ERA and allowed 15 hits in his prior seven innings pitched. Lugo will close out the Mets' regular season schedule on Sunday against the Nationals who have been heating up. Nevertheless, managers fighting to win their leagues should keep Lugo active for the final day of the season hoping he can build off of his success against Tampa Bay.
