BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 28% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Here's what Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Brady Singer has done over his past two starts: 14 innings, three hits, three walks, zero runs and 16 strikeouts. Needless to say, the Royals rookie appears to be hitting his stride.
Singer struggled over his first month or so in the majors, but a lot of that may have been due to the fact that he was constantly exposed to two of the best lineups in all of baseball. Prior to his last two starts, Singer had faced the Minnesota Twins three times in a row, followed by the Chicago White Sox twice in a row. Despite the challenging adversaries, he still made it through five innings in all but one outing and held his opposition to three or fewer runs in three of the five starts.
Singer has held batters to a 3.9% barrel rate and a launch angle of 9.4 this year. His slider has induced a 35% whiff rate and averaged 41.1 inches of vertical drop, over 2 inches more than league average. He's thrown the pitch about 37% as his primary support pitch to his low/mid-90s fastball.
Singer is currently slated for two starts in the final week of the season. He'll face the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday and then the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. He has tremendous upside for championship week and needs to be added anywhere he's available.
