BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 31% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer has been on a fantastic run to begin his major league career. Through three starts, he has posted a 1.69 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 11.3 K/9. He went at least five innings in each of his three starts, allowing exactly one earned run each time out.
Kremer has outperformed his expected stats so far, but with how impressive his surface numbers are, that should come as no surprise. His xERA is 4.07 and his xwOBA is .320. He has a 13.8% walk rate, which is a figure that will certainly need to go down for him in the future in order for him to stick in the rotation.
Kremer's effective pitch-mixing so far has enabled him to have success. He's thrown his four-seamer about 37% of the time while adding a healthy mix of his curveball (28%) and cutter (19%). The cutter has induced a remarkable whiff rate of 45.5% and the curveball has averaged a vertical drop of 64 inches, which is more than 4 inches above league average.
Kremer is slated for one more start in 2020, a favorable matchup at home against the Boston Red Sox this coming Wednesday. He's a fantastic addition to anyone's rotation for the final week of the season. If he's available in your league, make sure to put in a claim.
