BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 21% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Boston Red Sox first baseman/third baseman Bobby Dalbec has been on home run-or-bust mode since making his MLB debut in late August. Over his first 54 at-bats, he recorded 13 hits, six of which were home runs. Five of those home runs came in five consecutive games earlier this month. He was slugging .593 with an .898 OPS going into this weekend and could be a great source of power during the season's final week.
The downside with Dalbec is quite clear. He's been striking out at a horrifying rate. Going into this weekend, he had a strikeout rate of 50.8%. So if strikeouts are a key stat for you down the stretch, Dalbec is certainly not the ideal target.
Dalbec recorded barrels on five of his first 24 batted balls (20.8% barrel rate) in the big leagues. When he makes good content, the results are exceptional. He's worth adding for any fantasy owner who needs a power boost or a boom-or-bust type of player to gamble on down the stretch. He should see regular playing time with the Red Sox as they close out the year.
