4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers are placing cornerback Richard Sherman (calf) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, according to sources. It's a calf strain for Sherman, but he's expected to be back in a few weeks. Sherman will be out for three weeks on IR. The 32-year-old finished the Week 1 loss against the Cardinals, so it must not be too serious of an injury. Still, the loss of Sherman will be felt in the secondary for San Francisco, especially with Jason Verrett nursing an injury. But against a Jets team in Week 2 that just placed running back Le'Veon Bell (hamstring) on IR, the 49ers Defense is an elite fantasy play this weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
