4 years agoThe New Orleans Saints and Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara are "extremely close" to a lucrative new contract extension that the two sides are hoping to finalize in the next few days, according to sources. There had been recent trade speculation, but a new deal would silence that talk and keep Kamara in New Orleans through the prime of his career. Even though the 25-year-old dealt with injuries in 2019 and disappointed with just six total touchdowns, he's still a strong RB1 selection in the middle of the first round in fantasy drafts, especially in point-per-reception leagues. Kamara is just a year removed from scoring 18 total times (14 rushing, four receiving), and he continues to operate behind an excellent offensive line in New Orleans.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
