Patrice Bergeron, Bruins Eliminate Hurricanes
4 years agoThe Boston Bruins came from behind to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The win catapulted the Bruins into the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs while the Hurricanes were sent home. David Krejci scored the first goal for Boston while Patrice Bergeron won the game with a second-period, power-play tally. Both players also had assists. David Pastrnak, back from injury, had two helpers. Jaroslav Halak was strong in net and stopped 23 of 24 shots. For Carolina, Petr Mrazek also had a good game in net but the team was unable to jumpstart the offense. Defenseman Haydn Fleury had the team's lone goal. Sebastian Aho chipped in his ninth assist of the playoffs.
