Lewis Brinson Scratched From Tuesday’s Lineup
4 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson has been taken out of the club’s starting nine for Tuesday’s contest against the Mets and right-handed pitcher Corey Oswalt. The reason for Brinson’s removal was not made immediately available, but Matt Joyce will enter the lineup in his place as it's possible Miami simply played the matchups with Oswalt being swapped in for injured left-hander David Peterson. Brinson is again off to a slow start at the dish in 2020, having gone 2-for-18 with a 14 OPS+. While regarded as a top prospect for multiple seasons, Brinson’s lack of production (career .181/.238/.290 slash line) at the big league level makes him a non-entity in all season-long formats. His next chance to return to the lineup comes Wednesday against Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom, making him avoidable in DFS as well.
