Ian Anderson Has Better Chance To Debut In 2020
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka's torn Achilles has increased the chances that pitching prospect Ian Anderson will make his debut this year. Anderson needs to refine his control to have success at the highest level, but he misses plenty of bats with a three-pitch repertoire. The 22-year-old right-hander has been working on his secondary pitches at the team's alternate site. His fastball-curve combination could give hitters fits whenever he makes his debut, but he also could be frustrating to use in fantasy if he struggles to find the strike zone. Anderson's ceiling is a front-line starter for Atlanta, but be prepared to live with some ups and downs if he's pitching for the Braves in 2020. MLB Pipeline has him ranked as the overall No. 42 prospect.
