4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals top outfield prospect Dylan Carlson was not included on the team's Opening Day roster, and he admitted that he was "disappointed" with the decision after a strong spring and a standout 2019 season in the minors. The five outfielders on the roster are Harrison Bader, Dexter Fowler, Tyler O'Neill, Lane Thomas and Austin Dean. Dean had the edge over Carlson because he was on the 40-man roster. The Cardinals can avoid losing a year of control by keeping Carlson off the roster for as little as a week. Carlson has one of the most intriguing bats of the top prospects, and he should force his way onto the big league roster at some point in 2020, making him worth stashing in the majority of leagues if you have the room.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
