Bobby Witt Jr. Reaches Base Four Times On Tuesday
4 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. had a remarkable game on Tuesday against the Astros, going 2-for-3 with two walks, one RBI and two runs. He hit seventh in the lineup and played third base in the game. Witt, who was selected second overall by the team in the 2019 MLB draft, appears unlikely to make the team's Opening Day roster. He turned 20 in June and the team has no urgency to rush him to the majors. The Royals will likely enter the season with Nicky Lopez at second base, Adalberto Mondesi at shortstop and Maikel Franco at third base. The future looks bright for Witt, but he can remain on waivers in all redraft, non-dynasty leagues for now.
