Browns Sign Rookie Grant Delpit
4 years agoThe Cleveland Browns signed second-round safety Grant Delpit to his four-year rookie contract on Wednesday. The deal is worth roughly $7.465 million, including a $2.989 million signing bonus. Cleveland's main attraction to Delpit was the fact that he's extremely versatile on defense. He's expected to challenge right away at the free safety spot and could start alongside strong safety Karl Joseph in 2020. Delpit had 199 tackles (17.5 for loss), seven sacks, eight interceptions, 24 passes defensed and two forced fumbles in his three seasons at LSU. "We really feel like he can fit in any safety role because of his versatility," said general manager Andrew Berry.
