Jordan Hicks Opts Out of the 2020 Season
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks has opted out of the 2020 season, according to the Cardinals official Twitter. Hicks cited pre-existing health concerns as his reason. The hard-throwing closer was going to start the season on the injured list as he completed his recovery from Tommy John Surgery, but was expected to pitch this year. Now, he'll have more time to recover and should be all systems go for 2021. Ryan Helsley was the first pitcher mentioned by manager Mike Shildt a few days ago when he was asked about the closer's role and makes for a very high upside add in all formats.
